Our Vision
The Strategic Alliance of Women in Politics will bring together, engage, and inspire prominent women political leaders globally.
With a deep commitment to democracy, human rights, and gender equality, and who are promoting women’s rights agendas and the prevention of violence against women and girls, especially in public life. At its core, the Alliance is a transnational space for women political leaders as humans, committed to driving change and to coming together beyond institutional roles. It provides a platform to coordinate action, connect on a personal level, and share solidarity.
The membership of the Alliance will focus on transformative women political leaders from around the world.
With a distinct focus on leaders from Global Majority countries and marginalized communities. The Alliance understands that political lives have periods of varied intensity, and that being politically active may involve more formal roles —such as elected or appointed office—as well as less formal forms of political engagement. It seeks to be a space that supports and engages talented women political leaders throughout those different stages. Its membership is transnational, intergenerational, and politically diverse, including leaders from across the political spectrum and at all levels of politics, elected and appointed leaders.

Our Mission
Provide a communal safe space for women political leaders across institutions and regions to come together, seek advice, share concerns, talk to each other, and get support, in order to build solidarity and improve their mental wellbeing.
Foster transnational support through regional and thematic groups based on current interests and priorities for cross-learning, brainstorming solutions, and joint advocacy.
Promote learning both within and outside the Alliance by creating, sharing, and amplifying tools and resources for political career progression, policy advancement, and innovative ideas addressing challenges that women leaders face.
Facilitate intergenerational cross-learning and mentorship by pairing women early in their political careers with experienced leaders to share learnings and reduce the effect of the dynamics that push them out of politics.
Create new narratives for targeted advocacy to support and uplift each other and our causes.
Act as a connector among different networks and spaces for women political leaders, facilitating coordination and resource sharing.
Support the push for policy and institutional change on members’ priority cause areas, at all levels of politics by providing tools, resources and opportunities for strategizing.

The Steering Committee brings together a group of seasoned women leaders whose backgrounds span law, activism, and public service across multiple regions. Their combined experience strengthens the Alliance’s strategic direction, fostering collaboration, supporting emerging leaders, and advancing women’s political power worldwide. Together, they help ensure the Alliance remains a trusted, transnational space for connection, mentorship, and collective action
